VITALIA Active Adult Community® – Solon Celebrates National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. As of 1998, May 8 was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually. And as of 2003, National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week (May 6-12) each year. The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896.

Yauntae Napoleon is our Director of Wellness. She is kind, thoughtful, anxious to learn, hardworking, dedicated, and a great person to be around. Residents like her because she cares, listens, and spends time with them.

Residents describe the wellness team as attentive and responsive. I will add, they are passionate about learning new skills and responsibilities. Going through challenging staffing issues, they have gone the extra mile to make sure the residents are taken care of.

The wellness team stepped up to support the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic by going above and beyond to make sure our residents can go on and have a normal day. They have made sure our residents were able to communicate with family members when we had to quarantine.

I want to give an extra shoutout to Ceira Polk. She is a new nurse and excited to learn about every resident. She takes on every task handed to her.

We will recognize our nurses at VITALIA Active Adult Community® – Solon Solon, OH during National Nurses Week with a pizza party, breakfast buffet for the night shift, donut day, necklaces, socks, and tumblers.
