Independent living is a lifestyle that allows seniors to maintain their current everyday living, while at the same time offering them a sense of community, specialized amenities, and tailored services that are designed to keep them active and healthy. Assisted living affords seniors a greater level of assistance with activities of daily living so that independence and dignity are maintained in a friendly and caring environment. Memory Care is a special neighborhood for residents suffering from Alzheimer’s or other dementia-related illnesses. Memory Care offers safety, comfort, and appropriate social interaction where each resident is cared for and treated with respect and compassion.

The Fremont offers a continuum of care community focused on dignity, respect, and quality of life where residents can age in place. We also pride ourselves on wellness-minded programs highlighting the importance of social, mental, and physical wellbeing.

At The Fremont, each apartment is designed with aging in mind for comfort and safety. Whether a resident of our independent living lodges or our Memory Care cottage, each and every detail of the community, its amenities, and its programs are chosen to provide superior quality and comfort.

We understand that financial obligations are a large part of choosing a senior living community. At The Fremont, each neighborhood offers a variety of customizable options and choices to best suit your budget. There are VA benefits available to certain Veterans and Surviving Spouses to assist in paying for your cost of living. Additionally, a portion of the rent may also be tax-deductible as a medical expense. You’ll find that the costs of living at The Fremont are much more financially feasible when compared to living by yourself or in higher-needs communities. For more information, please call us at (417) 881-0500 or complete our online contact form to speak to a senior living counselor.

Glad you asked! The United States Government made major changes to the VA benefits related to senior living starting January 19. Here is a basic overview:

Aid and Attendance is a pension the Veterans Administration provides Veterans and their spouses to help cover the cost of senior living. It pays anywhere from just over $1,127 to over $2,900 per month. There are specific requirements. Please check the VA site for more information.

Our senior living community offers several areas for friends and families to gather. A full-service restaurant offering all-day dining is available as well as a library, gaming area, and cyber cafe.

Out-of-town family and friends visiting overnight can stay with you in the comfort of your apartment. We also offer guest suites if additional space or privacy is needed at a minimal price.

Each residency option at The Fremont includes 3 meals per day plus snacks. You may feel free to come and go as you please and eat whenever you like, from 7am to 7pm in the restaurant or in our 24-hour bistro. We do ask that residents who choose to keep food in their full kitchens do so from a local grocer.

We also encourage guests to join us anytime! We have variable guest rates depending on the meal.

We want residents to maintain as much independence as possible. While residents are welcome to keep their cars, The Fremont provides a bus and private car for scheduled group outings, as well as doctor appointments and trips to the bank and local merchants.

At The Fremont, we pride ourselves on our activity schedule, which offers a diverse program of activities and outings tailored to meet the interests of our residents.

Our independent living residents can receive additional living assistance from our preferred third-party providers.

Residents of our assisted living and memory care neighborhoods are provided a wellness evaluation during the move-in process to help determine their needs and how best to serve them.

Reserving an apartment is easy! Along with a small deposit and community fee, our senior living counselors will assist you in completing our simple application process. For more information, contact us today at (417) 881-0500 or complete our online contact form.

Residents are free to come and go as they please, with no set curfew times. For security reasons, we lock the community doors in the evenings, but have various methods of entry for residents and verified family members.

We are a completely smoke-free campus to all residents, employees, and guests.

Benjamin Franklin once said, “in wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom.” We believe in smartly exercising our independence with social hours, such as our wine and cheese tastings, and happy hours where we serve beer and wine, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Residents are welcome to stock their fridge with whatever they like.

You are welcome to have visitors at the time most convenient for you and your guests. Visitors arriving before or after our regular business hours simply use our call system and one of our staff members will be there to escort them inside.
